In addition to buying air tickets, many tourists have chosen to buy train tickets. Looking forward to the upcoming grand ceremony, Vietnam Railway Corporation has organized a pair of trains named " unified fleet" with its own design, bearing the mark of the historical event.
According to the schedule, on the evening of April 29, train SE1 departed from Hanoi station and train SE4 departed from Saigon station. The two trains will meet at 12 noon on April 30 at Da Nang station. At the train departure ceremony on the evening of April 29, the railway industry will prepare some surprise gifts for passengers on these two trains.
This specially designed Thong Nhat train sold out very early. Many tourists want to book tickets for historic trains but the ticket sales system no longer displays empty seats.
To meet the large number of passengers, the railway industry has proactively planned to increase trains, open ticket sales very early and prepare locomotives, carriages, arrange human resources to serve at stations as well as trains... to ensure all trips are safe and convenient.
In addition to the 5 pairs of Thong ngan passenger trains running daily, there will be 2 more SE9 trains on April 29-30 from Hanoi Station to Saigon Station. As of April 18, the number of tickets sold is 80,000, accounting for 62% of the number of tickets provided for the upcoming long holiday.

According to Lao Dong, on the online ticket sales system of Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR), trains departing from Hanoi Railway Station to Ho Chi Minh City on April 28 such as SE1, SE3, SE5, SE7 and SE11 have very few tickets left in the first 3 days of the holiday.
On April 29 alone, all tickets were sold out, while on April 30 there were only a few tickets left for late-night seats.
In the afternoon, passengers mainly choose to take the train on January 3 and 4 to return to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, on the remaining days of the holiday, train tickets are still available. In case the demand for transportation continues to increase, the railway industry will continue to have a plan to add more trains or add more cars to meet the demand.
It is expected that on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, in addition to the 5 Thong Son trains that still run daily from Hanoi and Saigon stations, there will be 2 more trains with increased departure from Hanoi station to Saigon station.
Ms. Vu Thi Bich Hue, Head of PR and Marketing Department of Flamingo Redtours, said that train travel is becoming an attractive choice for many tourists.
Tours such as Hai Phong Foodtour cost 699,000 VND; Thai Nguyen cost 2,650,000 VND; Quang Binh costs 4,990,000 VND; Quang Binh - Quang Tri costs 5,420,000 VND and are loved by many people.
This tour complex attracts visitors thanks to its lower cost than taking a plane. At the same time, it saves time because visitors sleep overnight on the train and can visit the next morning. If previously trains were only considered a means of transportation, now many people consider this an experiential activity in the journey.
"The destinations in the tour are meaningful, especially in the atmosphere of the whole country, towards the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, making the train experience even more profound," Bich Hue said.
On this occasion, the railway industry also launched many new products to attract tourists.
On April 24, a representative of VNR said that it had just officially put into operation the Song Lam high-quality sleeper train. The convoy consists of 10 cars, of which 5 cars are connected to NA2 (Vinh - Hanoi route) and 5 cars are connected to NA1 (Hanoi - Vinh route).
All cars are newly built according to 5-star standards, equipped with modern and comfortable interior, to enhance the experience for passengers.
