Experience visiting the new Vietnam Military History Museum

The Vietnam Military History Museum reopened after a three-day closure, and visitors can visit for free until the end of December.

The new Vietnam Military History Museum is located on Thang Long Avenue (Tay Mo and Dai Mo wards, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi). This is a project invested in by the Ministry of National Defense since 2019 on an area of ​​over 386,600m2 with a modern, multi-functional design.

Below are some notes for residents and visitors when visiting the Vietnam Military History Museum:

Opening hours

The Vietnam Military History Museum is open every day of the week (except Monday and Friday).

In the morning, the museum is open from 8:00 - 11:30. In the afternoon, it is open from 13:00 - 16:30.

Ticket price

Vietnam Military History Museum offers free admission to visitors from November 1 to December 2024.

Move

The museum is located at Km6+500 Thang Long Avenue (Tay Mo Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi). Visitors can easily reach the museum by many means of transport. If traveling by bus, visitors can take routes 71, 74, 107, which stop right near the museum gate on Thang Long Avenue.

If traveling by personal vehicle, visitors travel along Thang Long Avenue for about 30 minutes.

The parking area is located on the left side of the museum (going towards Thang Long Avenue), very spacious. The parking fee is 3,000 VND/motorbike, 20,000 VND/car, however, currently the parking fee is free.

Sightseeing

The Vietnam Military History Museum currently preserves and displays more than 150,000 artifacts, including four national treasures, including two MIG-21 aircraft with serial numbers 4324 and 5121, T54B tank with serial number 843 and the Ho Chi Minh Campaign Determination map.

The new Vietnam Military History Museum also uses many technological applications, such as 3D mapping or 3D movies, so that this place is not only a place to display historical war artifacts, but also brings a vivid experience space, helping visitors better understand the process of the nation's struggle for independence.

Eat and drink

There are currently no food or drink spots open nearby. Visitors need to prepare their own drinks and food at home and bring umbrellas, hats, caps, etc. because the museum has an outdoor exhibition area.
