Vietnamese mooncakes make a strong impression on international visitors with their especially impressive flavor at first taste.

Visiting Vietnam during the Mid-Autumn Festival, many international visitors are excited to experience this colorful traditional festival. For them, not only the bustling atmosphere but also the traditional Vietnamese moon cake flavor left an unforgettable impression.

Bathilde, a tourist from France who tried both sticky rice cakes and baked cakes for the first time, said the experience was very enjoyable.

When eating baked cakes, she feels the rich flavor, especially with the blend of saltiness and sweetness. However, the cake is much sweeter than her taste.

On the contrary, sticky rice cake leaves a stronger impression, with a just-tasted sweet taste, delicately blended with sticky soft cake that is easy to enjoy.

According to Bathilde, sticky rice cake is probably closer to the taste of many international tourists thanks to its light, fragrant flavor.

Meanwhile, baked cakes have a more complex and rich flavor.

Sometimes, it can become a challenge for foreign tourists who are not used to the unique sweet and salty combining style of Vietnamese cuisine.

I think enjoying moon cakes on traditional Vietnamese holidays is an extremely interesting culinary culture, reflecting the richness of the long-standing festivals here, Bathilde commented.

In addition, surprisingly, the baked mooncakes reminded her of a familiar cake in her hometown: Banh Vua ( Galette des Rois).

This is a traditional cake on the occasion of Hien Linh Festival in France.

There is a small thing hidden in this cake, whoever is lucky enough to find it will become a King or Queen and be given a paper crown. Both types of cakes have similarities with the golden brown grilled crust, are moderately soft, slightly sticky and slightly sweet, Bathilde expressed.

Present on Hang Ma Street during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Ari - from the US and Zach - Canadans, were both very excited and delighted by the flavor of these two types of cakes.

The first time the baked goods were sold, Ari said that although the baked goods had a very rich, stronger flavor than he had imagined. The sweet and salty taste combined with rosemary is very special, but she expressed her preference for sticky rice cake.

I like sticker cake, sticky cake ingredients with a fragrant, gentle flavor, not as sweet as I thought. In particular, sticky rice cake will easily conquer the taste of foreigners like us, she said.

Ari also shared that enjoying moon cakes during the holidays makes her clearly feel the solidarity and happiness of everyone in the bustling, bustling festive atmosphere, something she rarely has in her hometown.

Meanwhile, Zach was more inclined to baked cakes: I like baked cakes more. The complex flavor is completely opposite to the simple appearance with a layer of golden golden crust. In our country during Christmas, there are also some types of cakes with similar crust, such as fruit cakes. But to find a cake with a unique flavor like baked goods is really difficult.

In the midst of modern life, the Mid-Autumn Festival nights in the old town still retain their traditional features, making international visitors feel like entering a festival space imbued with identity. The moments of checking in by lanterns, enjoying baked cakes, sticky rice cakes... become unforgettable memories in the journey to explore Hanoi in the Mid-Autumn Festival of visitors from all over the world.
