On March 14, the Department of Construction of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that it is working with relevant units on the operation of the Phu Quy Express high-speed train operating on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route, and vice versa.
" Basically, if the conditions are met, the Department will do its best to create conditions for businesses to operate, thereby increasing connecting traffic routes, facilitating tourism development in Con Dao," said a leader of the Department of Construction.
According to current regulations, the travel distance from the wharf in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City to Ben Dam and Con Dao ports of the Phu Quy Express ship is expected to take about 7-8 hours.
Previously, Thanh Thanh Phat VTHK Company Limited - the operator of the Phu Quy Express high-speed train - issued a document announcing the temporary suspension of the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route, and vice versa from March 17, for a period of 12 months.
During this time, the unit will prepare and test to upgrade and replace the vehicle to ensure the best completion of service quality when it resumes operation.
The Phu Quy Express train was put into operation by this unit on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route, and vice versa. According to the plan, this high-speed train will operate its first trip at 7:00 a.m. on March 29, from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao.
This unit also has a price list expected to be sent to some dealers, in which the price of a sleeper ticket is from 970,000 VND; the price of a seat ticket is from 810,000 VND (with an increase on weekends, holidays and incentives for people with disabilities).
Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company - the operator of the Thang Long expressway - said that in recent days, many customers have contacted the unit to book tickets for the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route.
"We have temporarily suspended the operation of the Thang Long high-speed ship on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route since July 29, 2024, and so far there is no plan to resume operations," said a representative of Phu Quoc Express.
This unit also noted to visitors to clearly distinguish that the high-speed train route that is about to operate on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route belongs to Thanh Phat Technology Company Limited (Phu Quy Express) with a blue-white paint color; unlike the Thang Long high-speed train painted red, operating on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route.
