Ban Gioc Waterfall is considered the largest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia and one of the four waterfalls on the world's largest border.
In the fall, the water is as clear as a pearl, the cool climate makes Ban Gioc waterfall an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
However, the online community was recently surprised to see the image of Ban Gioc waterfall with muddy, flowing water during the flood season. The photo series was taken and shared by Mr. Thai Duong, a photographer in Trung Khanh commune (Cao Bang).

Mr. Duong said that the photo series he took in the early afternoon of October. After 2 consecutive storms, the waterfall became more intense, the water flowed more strongly, making many people surprised by the unusual beauty of Ban Gioc waterfall.

According to the Management Board of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area, from the afternoon of October 6, prolonged heavy rain caused the water level to rise about 2 m higher than normal.
This agency has issued a safety warning, recommending tourists not to come near the edge of waterfalls, riverbanks or areas at risk of landslides.
By the morning of October 7, the tourist area was forced to temporarily stop receiving visitors to ensure safety.
This is the second time in a week that the waterfall has had to close, after a temporary suspension from September 30 to October 3 due to the impact of storm No. 10 Bualoi. Heavy rain also caused many roads leading from Trung Khanh center to the waterfall area to be flooded, obstructing traffic.

Mr. Duong said that October is the most beautiful time to visit Ban Gioc waterfall. However, storms and floods have caused flooding in the area around the waterfall, causing tourism activities to stagnate.
In addition, the water also caused flooding for rice and surrounding crops, affecting the lives of local people.
He added that the roads to Ban Gioc waterfall have been repaired, and there are no more landslides or flooding. Currently, the tourist area management board has not officially announced the reopening of the restaurant to welcome visitors.

Ban Gioc Waterfall is loved by domestic and international tourists for its majestic and magnificent natural scenery. In addition to admiring the waterfall, visitors can also explore Nguom Ngao Cave, Pac Bo relic site or Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc pagoda.
