Nestled in Lac Son commune, Phu Tho province, Mu waterfall and Mu stream are a masterpiece of nature. The majestic 6-storey waterfall system, pouring down from a height of more than 100m, is like a soft silk strip stretching over the mountain slope, then joining the tearful stream.
The stream water is cool all year round, flowing through mossy rocks creating many natural lakes, bringing a beauty that is both wild and poetic.

From Hanoi, visitors can travel by motorbike or private car for about 3 - 3.5 hours.
Ms. Quynh Hoa (1990, Hanoi), who has experienced it here, said: "The access road has a bad section, and it is easy to flood during the rainy season. The way down to the stream is quite narrow, cars with more than 16 seats have difficulty getting to the homestay".
Day 1: fun in the cool green grasslands and bathe in Mu stream
The journey began in Bai Bui (Ngoc Son commune), a 9-hectare grassland at an altitude of 600m, covered with cool green grass and ancient trees hundreds of years old. Even in mid- Summers, this place is still fresh and pleasant.
From Bai Bui, the whole group traveled about 10km to reach the Mu stream area. Visitors can rest at community stilt house homestays with basic amenities, with a few private rooms or air conditioners.
Instead of eating at the homestay, Ms. Hoa's group chose to camp by the stream, preparing food and drinks. "We want children to have new experiences, discuss food together, and soak in stream water to cool. The children were very excited, she said.

Near noon, the group continued to move to the homestay near Suoi Mu to receive a room and rest. The homestays here are often community stilt houses, clean, with all the basic amenities. Only a few homestays have private rooms or air conditioners, visitors should contact to book in advance.

"Our group plans to camp by the stream, giving children a new experience, so we have prepared a list of things to bring, from food to drinks. When discussing together, the children were very excited and happy, she said.

In the afternoon, the whole group took a bath in the stream and swam in the cool natural lake. Visitors should shower in the early afternoon, because the water is colder at night. The space is covered with shade so there is no need to worry about the harsh sunshine.
In the evening, everyone enjoyed rice, grilled stream fish, mountain snails, and wild vegetables at the homestay.
Day 2: Conquer Mu Waterfall
After breakfast, visitors can walk around the stream area before coming to Mu Waterfall. The waterfall entrance is quite steep and narrow, but in return, the scenery at the foot of the waterfall is very impressive.

At noon, the whole group sat in bamboo hutes set up along the stream, eating while watching the majestic waterfall, listening to the sound of water blending with the sound of wild birds.
"The first impression when you set foot in Mu Waterfall was the majesty and splendor of the water. When I go to the water a lot, it becomes even more beautiful. The time spent sitting in a hut, eating and watching the waterfall flow, hearing the crowing of birds, all the fatigue seems to disappear," said Ms. Hoa.
After a 2-day, 1-night journey, the group returned to Hanoi in the afternoon. The total cost for 3 adults and 6 children is about 9 million VND, including 4 million to rent a round-trip car, 2 million to rent a homestay (2 rooms/night), food and sightseeing tickets (10,000 VND/adult, 5,000 VND/child).
To make the trip complete, visitors should prepare swims, easy-to-move shoes, insect repellent, snacks and drinks. In particular, it is necessary to maintain hygiene and not dump garbage to preserve the wild beauty of Mu waterfall and stream.
