Proactively fighting and cracking down on drug cases
Lam Dong has a long land border and a wide sea area, but also potentially poses a risk of illegal drug trading, transportation, storage and use.

According to the Provincial Border Guard, although no large drug lines have appeared, small-scale drug trading, transportation, and storage activities are still complicated.
Subjects often take advantage of social networks, "virtual" accounts, unclaimed SIM cards and bank transactions to conceal criminal acts.
Faced with that situation, the Provincial Border Guard Command strengthened patrols and controls in key areas; and at the same time coordinated with functional forces to exchange information and establish special cases to fight drug crimes.
Colonel Nguyen Thanh Dinh - Commander of the Border Guard of Lam Dong province said that the unit always identifies drug prevention and control as a key task.
The border guard force proactively grasps the area, identifies new methods and tricks of criminals to develop appropriate combat plans, not allowing the formation of drug hotspots on the border line.

During the peak period from June 1 to 30, 2026, the Provincial Border Guard Command presided over the detection, arrest, and prosecution of 5 cases with 6 subjects related to drugs; seizing more than 71.7 grams of heroin and nearly 13.6 grams of synthetic drugs.
The file and the subjects have been handed over to the Provincial Police for further investigation according to their authority.
Typically, on the evening of June 6, in Thuan An commune, the Border Guard force coordinated with the police to arrest Nguyen Van Ty while he was hiding drugs and drug use tools in a car.
According to the Provincial Border Guard, the above results show the effectiveness of grasping the situation, establishing specialized cases and close coordination between forces in fighting drug crime.
Promoting the strength of the entire people to protect the border line
In parallel with direct struggle, the Provincial Border Guard Command determines that prevention from the grassroots level is a long-term solution.

Units regularly coordinate with Party committees and local authorities to propagate laws and mobilize people to participate in denouncing crimes.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quoc Tuan - Commander of Bu Prang Border Guard Station said that the unit proactively grasped the area, early detected new methods of crime and coordinated with functional forces to fight effectively.
In the Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control in 2026, the border guard force maintained 21 anonymous crime denunciation boxes, organized 144 propaganda sessions in villages, hamlets, villages and residential areas with more than 3,500 participants.

In Thuan Hanh commune, Dak Song Border Guard Station also guided people to use QR codes on the Zalo platform to reflect the security and order situation.
Many people have proactively provided images, locations and information, helping functional forces promptly grasp developments at the grassroots level.
According to Colonel Nguyen Thanh Dinh, the Provincial Border Guard Command will continue to coordinate with the border protection force of Mondulkiri province (Cambodia) and functional forces to strengthen information exchange, manage the area, and prevent drug crime from the foreign border.
At the same time, the unit continues to improve the quality of professional work, build a regular, elite, and modern force, meeting task requirements in the new situation.
The Border Guard of Lam Dong province determines to continue to closely combine professional measures with promoting the role of the people to proactively prevent drug crimes from early and far, maintaining security in the border area.
