On the occasion of the Lao traditional Lunar New Year Bunpimay, on October 9-10, Hue City Border Guard Command coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City to organize a working delegation to visit, wish Tet and give gifts to people in the border area of Sekong and Salavan provinces (Laos).
The delegation presented gifts at Se Sap, Ka Lo villages (Kà Lừm district, Sê Kông province) and Co Tai village (Sá Muội district, Salavan province); and presented gifts to border protection forces of friendly countries such as Ta Vang Police Station, Co Tai Police Station and border protection companies.
At the destinations, Colonel Dang Ngoc Hieu - Political Commissar of Hue City Border Guard - sent New Year greetings to Party committees, authorities, armed forces and people in localities of Laos; affirming that the activity contributes to consolidating the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
On this occasion, the delegation presented 300 gifts (500,000 VND/gift) to the people and border protection forces of the friendly country.
On the same day, April 9, a working delegation of the Hue City Border Work Steering Committee led by Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Manh also visited and wished Tet to armed forces units in the border area of the two provinces of Sekong and Salavan.
At the units, leaders of Hue City congratulated the new year, and at the same time expressed their belief that the forces of the two sides will continue to strengthen coordination in managing and protecting sovereignty, maintaining security in the border area, contributing to building a border line of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
