Chinese Buddhists in Ho Chi Minh City give social security gifts to people in difficult circumstances

Ho Chi Minh City - Chinese Buddhism has just coordinated with the government of Chanh Hung ward, Phu Dinh to give 300 gifts and support 75 million VND for the sea and island program.

Welcoming the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Congress, Chinese Buddhist monks in Ho Chi Minh City have just coordinated with some wards to organize the program "Spreading Love - Connecting the Community", taking care of households in difficult circumstances.

Attending the program were Venerable Thich Hue Cong - Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (GHPGVN) HCMC, Head of the Representative Board of Chinese Buddhists HCMC, along with representatives of pagodas and leaders of the government of Chanh Hung and Phu Dinh wards.

At the ceremony, the organizing committee presented 300 gifts to households in difficult circumstances in the two wards. Each gift is worth 400,000 VND, including: rice, noodles, necessities and cash. These gifts, although small, show the spirit of mutual affection, helping people alleviate difficulties in life.

On behalf of the local authorities, Mr. Truong Cong Ho - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Chanh Hung ward sent deep gratitude to Chinese Buddhist monks in Ho Chi Minh City. He emphasized that the companionship of the Church in social charity activities in the past time has made an important contribution to social security work in the locality.

On this occasion, Venerable Thich Thong Chan (Tu Phuoc Retreat) also donated 75 million VND to the "Homeland Islands" program. This is a meaningful activity launched by the leaders of Chanh Hung ward to focus on soldiers on duty in the islands in the coming time.
