In the last days of the year, when streets in Ninh Binh begin to be filled with flags and flowers, at Ha Nam Social Protection Center facility 2 (Ly Thuong Kiet ward, Ninh Binh province), the Tet atmosphere is also spread in a very unique way.
Not noisy, not ostentatious, Tet here comes from simple things, just gathering to wrap banh chung, or making fake peach branches yourself...
From officials and staff to those less fortunate who are being nurtured at the center, they gather together to wrap banh chung, decorating the Tet space right at the center...

There are elderly people who are nearly 90 years old or children who are only 5 years old, although each person has a different situation, they all have a common feeling, they feel the warmth and sharing in this common house.
Ms. Pham Thi Dao (87 years old) shared: "I don't have children, nor is there a place to rely on, so I have been taken to the care center for more than 2 years now. Every Tet holiday, participating in meaningful activities like this makes me very happy, I feel like I am reuniting with relatives and family.
Born in a situation of absence of parents' arms, Phung Bao Ngoc, born in 2009, has been raised at the center for nearly 10 years. Ngoc shared: "I came to the center in 2017. Since I was a child, I have lacked the affection of my parents and family, so when participating in Tet activities here, I am very happy and somewhat relieved the feeling of emptiness and self-pity".
Ms. Bui Thi Dung - Deputy Director of Ha Nam Social Protection Center, facility 2, said that the center has 3 facilities and is managing and nurturing 336 people. Separately, facility 2 in Ly Thuong Kiet ward is nurturing and caring for 82 people. They are lonely elderly people, orphans, people with disabilities or mental illnesses...

In daily life, especially on holidays and Tet, the team of officials and employees always makes every effort to organize meaningful activities to partially compensate for the feelings of those less fortunate lives being cared for here.
This year, the center organizes to wrap 100 banh chung to welcome Tet, everyone is excited to participate. On New Year's Eve, the center will organize a program to welcome the moment of New Year's transition and give lucky money at the beginning of the year so that they have a complete Tet season" - Ms. Dung shared.
Perhaps for many people, Tet is a long trip, or moments of gathering with relatives and family. But here, Tet is simply being gathered, being called each other by the two words "relatives". In that sponsored roof, spring does not come from brilliant fireworks, but from the sharing of everyone.
