Lam Dong - The festival of gong culture, cuisine and folk games at the foot of Lang Biang mountain contributes to promoting the cultural identity of the K'Ho people to tourists.

These days, at the tourist area at the foot of Lang Biang mountain, Lang Biang ward - Da Lat (Lam Dong), the 2026 gong culture and culinary festival combined with folk games takes place.

This is one of the activities in response to the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival, attracting a large number of people, tourists and the K'Ho community living at the foot of Lang Biang mountain and surrounding areas to participate.

The festival includes many activities imbued with the cultural identity of the K'Ho people such as stick pushing competition, tug of war, folk game performances, local culinary competitions, art performances, xoang dance and gong performances.

Through the program, the locality creates a space for exchange between artisans, gong troupes and tourists.

From there, contributing to preserving and honoring the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities, promoting the image of Lang Biang - Da Lat land and people to domestic and international tourists.

Ms. Lieng Jrang K’Sau (village 4, Lac Duong commune) said that participating in the culinary contest, people brought many typical dishes such as bitter eggplant cooked with buffalo skin, smoked pork, tadpole cooked with bamboo tube...

These are all familiar dishes in the life of the K'Ho people, contributing to introducing the unique culinary culture of the locality to tourists.

According to Mr. Cil Poh, Vice Chairman of Lang Biang Ward People's Committee - Da Lat, the land at the foot of Lang Biang Mountain is a place that converges many historical, cultural and revolutionary values; and at the same time preserves the unique features of the indigenous ethnic communities of the Central Highlands, especially the K'Ho people.

The event contributes to affirming the local determination to develop tourism into an important economic sector, linking the preservation of traditional culture with the development of community tourism, experiential tourism and cultural tourism.

In addition to enjoying cuisine, visitors can also immerse themselves in the gong and chieng cultural space with performances by artisans from clubs such as Hoa Lang Biang, Cultural Family, Bon Dong, Da M'Lot and Lang Biang Friends.

Through these activities, the locality expects to continue to preserve, spread and promote the traditional cultural values of the K'Ho people as well as the community of brotherly ethnic groups in the area; gradually build the image of Lang Biang - Da Lat to become a safe, friendly, attractive and rich in identity destination.
