On July 24, the Government Portal reported that according to the latest updated data from localities, the whole country has basically completed 100% of the work of supporting the repair, construction or improvement of houses for households of meritorious people and relatives of martyrs.
This result is a clear demonstration of the drastic efforts of all levels and sectors in implementing the Prime Minister's direction, aiming to comprehensively improve living conditions, both materially and spiritually for people with meritorious services, promptly expressing gratitude before the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27.
The completion of this goal demonstrates the concern and care of the Party and State for people with meritorious services; is a manifestation of deep gratitude to those who sacrificed and devoted their blood to the cause of independence, freedom and the cause of defending the Fatherland - especially the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers and martyrs' families.
In particular, Tuyen Quang is one of the provinces that has completed the goal of eliminating temporary houses for people with meritorious services early. In communes and villages, people contribute: from leveling the ground, transporting materials to supporting construction work days.
Or on July 23, the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to announce the completion of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province (after the merger).
After nearly 1 year of implementation, up to this point, Ca Mau has completed the construction and repair of 9,594 houses for people with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs, poor households, near-poor households, and households under the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas, with a total cost of over 470 billion VND.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai said that the program not only helps people in the province settle down but also creates a foundation for success, "leaving no one behind". Through the program, it contributes to the effective implementation of the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, ensuring social security and maintaining national defense and security in the area.
To date, Da Nang city has built and repaired 12,290 temporary and dilapidated houses out of a total of 12,340 houses that need support, reaching 99.59% of the plan, with a total implementation cost of more than 340 billion VND. A few unfinished houses are mainly in the disadvantaged mountainous communes of the old Quang Nam province.
The remaining houses to be deployed and completed are currently 50 houses and according to the city's policy, the city is determined to strive to complete before August 15, 2025. This is an event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
In Quang Tri, in a short time (4 months, 5 days), the locality completed the construction and donated 1,143 houses to people in mountainous and border areas. The inauguration and handover ceremony was held on July 22.
With a new, stable and solid place to live, households will feel secure in working and producing, continue to promote the spirit of national solidarity, trust in the leadership of the Party and State, continue to rise up in life, actively participate in ensuring security, order and building a solid people's security posture in the area.
In Notice No. 367/TB-VPCP, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, agencies and localities to be determined to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before August 31.
In which, housing support for meritorious people and martyrs' families will be completed before July 24, 2025 to practically celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
