65 Vietnamese martyrs' remains found on Laos

Nghe An - After nearly 6 months of implementing the mission in Laos, the team of the provincial Military Command has removed 65 martyrs' remains.

Information from Nghe An Military Command Team on April 14 said that the task force has just discovered and gathered an additional martyrs in the mountain area (Loong Chang village, Loong Chua district, Bun Bun province, Laos).

The remains are found in the soil layer about 1 meter deep, accompanied by many relics such as AK Bullets, versatile shovels, M04 toxic masks, gaining sheets, fabric shoe sole and especially a comb with the words "Happiness" - an emotional trace reminiscent of the Vietnamese people who sacrificed the spring of the spring in the remote battlefield.

Currently, the force is expanding the search range around the detection area to verify that there is more remains or relevant relevant.

In the dry season 2024 - 2025, the collection team has performed the task in 3 provinces of Laos, including: Xieng Khau, grinding Bun and Vientiane. As of April 12, the team has searched and gathered a total of 65 remains of martyrs and Vietnamese experts to sacrifice in resistance wars.

In particular, in Xieng Khau Quy province, 58 remains; The province grinds 6 remains and Vientiane 1 remains. All were taken to worship at the Memorial House of Xieng Khouang Province - the place where the sacred memories were kept in a time of fire and the noble international affection.

According to the collection team, the search journey takes place in extremely harsh conditions. The terrain is rugged, high mountains, jungle, deep cave, many areas still have mines and mines after the war. The border climate changes erratically, information about graves is increasingly rare, requiring persistent spirit, responsibility and close coordination with your local authorities.

The search and collection of the remains of Vietnamese martyrs sacrificed in Laos is a defensive foreign affairs activity with profound humanitarian significance, showing the morality of "drinking water to remember the source" of the nation. This is not only a military mission, but also the honor promise of the country for the children who have fallen because of the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the sacred international obligations.

After completing the procedure of worshiping in Laos, the remains will be brought to Vietnam to organize a memorial and burial ceremony according to the solemn and compliance with the State's regulations.

Over the years, Nghe An is the leading locality in the collection of martyrs' remains sacrificed in Laos, with thousands of tombs that have been brought to their homeland. These results not only contribute to ease the pain of war but also nurture the special friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
