Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has started construction of 1,430 houses and completed and handed over 594 houses to people with meritorious services, the poor, and people with housing difficulties.
The total budget for supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people in difficult circumstances in the whole province is 909.08 billion VND.

Meanwhile, the total demand for new houses and house repairs for subjects in the province is 21,770 units.
Therefore, from now until August 31, 2025, the total number of houses to be completed is 9,052, of which 4,713 newly built and 4,339 repaired, corresponding to the total cost requirement for completion of 416.07 billion VND. The total budget available and expected to be received as committed is VND 627.663 billion.
According to Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh, the amount of houses for the poor and meritorious people is still large, many families are confused in the implementation process.
He suggested that localities stick closer, be more determined, and guide people to build houses appropriately. At the same time, review the right beneficiaries, on that basis allocate capital for early implementation.
Regarding 72 households in Dan Lai district of Con Cuong that have not been granted land to build houses, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh said that it is necessary to jointly deploy house construction with land allocation for people to keep up with progress. In addition, it is necessary to study and repair the road to transport materials and supplies for people to build houses.
Districts need to regularly check the quality and aesthetics of houses for people, have many house models for people to choose from; build specific progress and regularly inspect, urge, and supervise during the implementation process.
Nghe An provincial leaders requested districts and departments and branches to focus highly and resolutely to complete the program, ensuring the set progress, striving to complete before July 31, 2025.
Previously, on the afternoon of March 10, the Central Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide held a third meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
At this conference, the Prime Minister emphasized: "From no people's land to temporary or dilapidated houses, this is the command of our hearts and conscience, the responsibility of the community"; thereby, the whole country is requested to strive to basically complete by October 30, 2025.
Up to now, Nghe An province is leading the country in implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses (excluding housing support for meritorious people and houses under 2 national target programs).
