On the morning of May 26, Hanoi - Yen Bai Eye Hospital coordinated with Lao Chai Commune People's Committee and the Commune Health Station to organize a humanitarian medical examination program combined with communication to prevent blindness in 2026 for people in the area.

The program is implemented according to Official Dispatch No. 2039/SYT-NVY dated May 12, 2026 of the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health, to improve the quality of eye health care for people in mountainous areas, and at the same time detect early diseases at risk of causing vision loss.
From early morning, many people in Lao Chai commune, especially the elderly, were present at the examination point to have their eyes checked and health advice.
The medical team conducts screening, measures vision and guides treatment for people, regardless of whether they have health insurance or not.

Through examination, doctors discovered many cases of common eye diseases such as cataracts, flesh palpitations, crooked eyelashes, styes and some other diseases causing vision loss.
People are specifically explained about eye health conditions, and at the same time are advised on appropriate treatment options.

In addition to medical examination and treatment activities, the program also integrates propaganda and guidance for people on how to care for and protect their eyes in daily life.
Doctors and nurses disseminate knowledge about proper eye hygiene, early identification of abnormal signs to go for timely examination, contributing to limiting the risk of vision loss and blindness.
