To celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day July 27, border guard units of An Giang province have implemented many practical and meaningful activities to express gratitude to heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

These are actions that show the tradition of morality "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude" of the nation, and at the same time contribute to educating officers and soldiers about patriotism, national pride and responsibility for the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

Accordingly, the Border Guard units of the province have organized working delegations to visit and give gifts to policy families, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs in the stationed area. The gifts, although not of great material value, contain the feelings and deep gratitude of officers and soldiers for those who have contributed and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

In addition to visiting activities, many units also coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to organize incense offering and flowers offering at martyrs' cemeteries and memorials. Reorganize and clean the cemetery grounds, take care of martyrs' graves, and light candles of gratitude to commemorate the great contributions of heroes who bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and protection of the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.

Along with that, social security activities are also being actively implemented such as medical examinations, free medicine distribution, gifts for policy families, poor households, and people with meritorious services. Supporting house repairs, helping with labor days, organizing gratitude meals and implementing many practical projects and tasks for the community. These activities contribute to strengthening the military-civilian solidarity relationship, building an increasingly solid people's hearts posture in the border area.

On this occasion, units also promote propaganda and revolutionary tradition education through political activities, seminars, meetings with historical witnesses, and exchanges with exemplary veterans and wounded soldiers. Thereby helping officers and soldiers, especially the younger generation, better understand the great sacrifices of previous generations, thereby constantly training political bravery, raising sense of responsibility, and successfully completing the task of managing and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security.

Gratitude activities not only show affection and responsibility towards people with meritorious services but also contribute to spreading profound human values, promoting the good traditions of the Vietnamese nation. This is also a motivation for each officer and soldier of the Border Guard to continue to uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, overcome all difficulties, and excellently complete the task of firmly protecting national border sovereignty and security in the new situation.
