Announcing the Decision to appoint the abbot of Lien Tri Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City

Lien Tri Pagoda (HCMC) held a ceremony to award the decision to appoint Nun Thich Nu Dieu Quang as abbot, marking a new step in the development of the pagoda.

On May 13, at Lien Tri Pagoda (Cay Vung hamlet, Dau Tieng commune, Ho Chi Minh City), a solemn ceremony was held to announce and award the decision to appoint the abbot of Lien Tri Pagoda, marking a new step in the work of stabilizing daily life and guiding Buddhists to practice in the locality.

Opening the ceremony, on behalf of the Secretariat of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, Venerable Thich Hue Nghiem announced the Decision to appoint the abbot and invited Venerable Thich Thien Hung to perform the ceremony to present the Decision to Nun Thich Nu Dieu Quang, officially taking on the responsibility of abbot of Lien Tri Pagoda.

In the solemn moment, the new abbot presented a vow to the Venerable Monks to prove, vowing to diligently study, strictly adhere to the Dharma, and serve the Three Jewels; continue to guide Buddhists to study according to the Dharma, building the Dharma to become more solemn and develop sustainably.

Representatives of Lien Tri Pagoda's Dharma hall, Buddhist Minh Duc, expressed their feelings and joy at the important event of the Buddhist temple, and vowed to always accompany and protect the Three Jewels and support the new Abbot in Buddhist affairs.

Presiding at the ceremony, Venerable Thich Hue Thong had profound words to the new abbot in her new position. The Venerable emphasized that the abbot is not only the spiritual leader of the abbey but also plays the role of guiding Buddhist followers to study the Dharma correctly, adhering to the Church Charter and State laws.

The Venerable also hopes that the new abbot will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, attachment to the locality, care for the spiritual life of Buddhists and actively accompany them in social security activities, contributing to building Ho Chi Minh City Buddhism to become increasingly strong.
