Strengthening the faith of ethnic minorities in the Party and State

According to Mr. Thach Mu Ni - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs of Vinh Long province, the belief of ethnic minorities in the Party and the State is increasingly strengthened.

According to information from the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs, at a recent working session, Mr. Thach Mu Ni - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs of Vinh Long province, said that Vinh Long province after merging from Ben Tre, Vinh Long and Tra Vinh provinces has a natural area of 6,296.2km2, with 124 commune-level administrative units (including 105 communes, 19 wards), the general population of the whole province is 3,386,100 people, of which ethnic minorities are more than 373,640 people (accounting for 11.03%).

The province currently has 412 people with prestige. In the period 2018 - 2025, the province has commended and rewarded 105 individuals with prestige among ethnic minorities with typical achievements in implementing ethnic affairs and ethnic policies of the Party and State.

Through the implementation of many guidelines and policies suitable to the reality of ethnic minority areas, including investing in infrastructure, supporting production development, taking care of education, health and sustainable poverty reduction, it has contributed to clearly improving the material and spiritual lives of people. Through this, the trust of ethnic minorities in the Party and the State is increasingly strengthened.

Representatives of reputable people affirmed that they will continue to promote the role of a bridge, actively propagate and mobilize people to well comply with guidelines, policies, and laws, contributing to maintaining stability and promoting socio-economic development in the locality.

Previously, Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee signed a decision approving the Plan to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2025 in the area.

Stepping into 2025, the last year of the socio-economic development plan for the period 2021 - 2025, the province sets a goal to continue multidimensional, inclusive and sustainable poverty reduction, limiting re-poverty and supporting people to improve their living standards.

Vinh Long strives to reduce 0.5% of poor households, including 0.5% of Khmer ethnic poor households, and at the same time reduce 0.5% of near-poor households according to the national multidimensional poverty standard. The province also aims to increase from 1 - 1.5% the number of poor households with full access to basic social services.
