On the afternoon of August 5, the 1st Congress of the An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 with the motto "Democracy - Solidarity - Discipline - Innovation - Development" was a great success.
For the 2020 - 2025 term, the An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee has thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented important resolutions and directives such as Resolution of Central Committee 8 (11th and 13th terms) on the Strategy for Fatherland Protection in the New situation; Resolution No. 33 of the Politburo on the National Border Protection Strategy; Vietnam Border Law; Decree No. 21/2019/ND-CP on the defense area; Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW on civil defense until 2030 and the following years.
The work of building defense areas has been effectively implemented with the planning of construction of defense works on border lines, islands near the coast, and island areas; raising awareness and quality of national defense and security education; organizing drills at all levels to reach 100% of the target; building militia and self-defense forces, and providing appropriate and sufficient mobilization according to the plan.
Military recruitment and military recruitment work has met the target; implementing the Project "Promoting the role of the People's Army in disseminating the law at the grassroots level", the province has built 96 models of skillful Mass Mobilization such as "Vietnam Military", "Spring Border Guard Warms the hearts of the villagers", "Showing up children to go to school - Children of the Border Guard Station", "Zero-dong booth", "Zero-dong market"... with a total implementation cost of more than 780 billion VND. In which, mobilizing social resources over 90% contributes to spreading the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of the people.
The provincial armed forces contributed more than 12,000 working days to help eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; pay regimes and policies to the subjects with a total amount of over 18 billion VND; coordinate the search, collection and burial of 526 martyrs' remains...
The Congress determined a number of targets for the 2025 - 2030 term: Organize and payroll in accordance with regulations; combat readiness units reach 95% or more; Build militia and self-defense forces to reach 1.2% of the population; Annual military recruitment reaches 100% of the target; 100% of affiliated party organizations complete their tasks, of which 90% or more complete their tasks well and excellently...
Speaking at the Congress, Major General Huynh Van Ngon - Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 9 - praised the outstanding achievements of the An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee in the past term. Major General Huynh Van Ngon emphasized: "The results achieved are a testament to the efforts, solidarity, overcoming difficulties and determination to successfully complete the tasks of the collective of officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces".
The Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 9 suggested that in the coming time, the An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee continue to closely follow the direction of the Party Committee, the Military Region Command, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to effectively handle situations; focus on building defense areas; innovate and improve training quality, build strong political will for officers and soldiers; ensure good logistics and techniques for tasks.
The Congress resolved that the An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee Executive Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term consisted of 21 comrades; the Standing Committee consisted of 7 comrades. Comrade Nguyen Tien Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - was elected to continue to hold the position of Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee.
