Sewing training helps drug addicts return to life

Quang Tri - Drug rehabilitation facility No. 1 in Quang Tri province has started training sewing for students, opening up job opportunities and income after the rehabilitation process.

On November 28, Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1 of Quang Tri province (under the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Quang Tri Provincial Police) coordinated with Quang Tri Technical College and Nam Hai Garment Company Limited to organize a signing ceremony for vocational training regulations, and at the same time opened an industrial sewing class for people on drugs.

The first class has 35 students, trained for 2 months right at the vocational training workshop of the drug rehabilitation facility. At the end of the course, students will be granted a vocational certificate. Completed garment products that meet the standards during the learning process will also be included in the income for students, creating more motivation for training and working.

Notably, Nam Hai Garment Company Limited committed to signing labor contracts with the students after completing their treatment and having a need to work.

Lieutenant Colonel Ho Sy Dong - Head of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police affirmed that vocational training for drug addicts is an important support step, helping people after drug addiction to reintegrate into the community and stabilize their lives.

It is known that currently, Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1 Quang Tri is managing 66 students with a drug rehabilitation period of 12 to 24 months. In the coming time, the unit plans to open more mechanical vocational training classes to diversify career opportunities for students.
