Dien Bien adds over 254 billion VND to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

Dien Bien province has just added 254.34 billion VND to units implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do has just signed a decision to supplement funding for agencies and units to implement the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. The total additional cost is 254.340 billion VND.

Accordingly, the provincial People's Committee's budget for saving 5% of regular expenditures in the local budget in 2024 is VND 16.922 billion; the budget for saving 5% of regular expenditures of the state budget regulated to support from the central government for the local budget of group IV of the Prime Minister is VND 226.018 billion.

In addition, the support budget of Bac Ninh province is 10 billion VND; the remaining mobilized budget contributed in 2024 from the provincial budget transferred to 2025 is 1.4 billion VND.

The above additional funding will help 3,870 newly built houses (60 million VND/household), 738 houses renovated (30 million VND/household).

In Dien Bien province, according to the Housing Support Project for poor and near-poor households, out of a total of 4,682 temporary and dilapidated houses (4,495 poor households; 187 near-poor households), 3,769 households need to build new houses, 913 households need to repair.

Recently, the Government Office has issued Notice No. 158/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the third National Online Meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.

Accordingly, by October 31, 2025, the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide will be basically completed.
