Dien Bien solves the problem of lack of domestic water for thousands of households

Dien Bien - The Provincial People's Committee has just approved a series of investment projects to build and repair domestic water works with a total investment of more than 47 billion VND.

Key investment in disadvantaged areas

Recently, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Lo Van Cuong signed and issued 10 Decisions approving the Economic - Technical Report on investment in the construction of domestic water works in communes in the province.

According to the decisions, the province will invest in the construction of domestic water projects in the communes of Muong Pon, Na Sang, Muong Nha, Nu Ngam, Sam Mon. The projects include the construction of a new water supply system and the repair and upgrading of degraded works.

Specifically, the project with the largest capital scale is the central domestic water project of Muong Pon commune and neighboring villages with a total investment of 7 billion VND. The project is expected to provide stable water for about 2,000 people, state agencies and teachers and students at schools in the area.

In addition, 6.5 billion VND will be invested to build a domestic water project in Sa Long 1 village, Na Sang commune, serving 170 households, schools and health stations.

In Muong Nha commune, the water supply project for Huoi Canh village and Moc C5 village was approved with an investment of 5.68 billion VND.

For the repair works, Dien Bien province has spent 12 billion VND to repair and upgrade the domestic water system for 4 villages of Co Run 1, Co Run 2, Pu Mua and Huoi Ho (Muong Pon commune), ensuring domestic water for thousands of people.

Project implementation in the period of 2025-2026

The projects not only build infrastructure but also solve the urgent need for clean water - one of the important criteria in building new rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction.

In addition to the above projects, the Provincial People's Committee also approved investment in Na Sang commune: Building new domestic water in Huoi My village for VND4.14 billion and Huoi Y village for VND2.5 billion; repairing domestic water in Then Pa village for VND2 billion.

Build new domestic water for Na Hai village (Nam Mon commune) with 4 billion VND. Repairing domestic water in Nam He 1 village (Nua Ngam commune) with 3.5 billion VND.

In terms of scale, the projects mainly use dam solutions, solid domestic water tanks and HDPE pipeline systems to bring water to households and schools, ensuring national technical standards.

According to the decision of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, these projects will be assigned to the Project Management and Land Fund Development Board of Area 2 and Area 4 as the investor.

Project implementation progress in the period of 2025-2026. From the capital of the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, period 2021-2025.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested investors to coordinate with the Departments of Construction, Finance and local authorities to complete documents, ensuring quality and progress.
