The buffalo procession ceremony (or procession ceremony, buffalo procession) is a ritual held with the meaning of reporting to the village tutelary god and gods about the "buffaloes" who have been cared for and trained to participate in the fighting festival. The ritual is associated with the belief in worshiping the god Diem Tuoc Dai Vuong - the god of Do Son mountains and waters.
At the buffalo presentation ceremony, buffalo owners and local people perform the ritual of offering the buffalo presentation to the tutelary god, praying for the buffaloes to have good health, be resilient, compete bravely, bring good luck, peace and bumper crops to the fishermen.

Officials, elders and local people organize the procession of rituals from Nghe Temples, Ngoc Xuyen communal house, Nam communal house, Ngoc Hai communal house around residential areas. The carefully selected "buffaloes", wearing bright red cloths and divine flag hats, will be led by the buffalo owners through the communal house gate, entering the village communal house yard to perform the ceremony of presenting to the tutelary god.
After the buffaloes were presented, the buffalo owners and representatives of the organizing committee proceeded to recite the ritual text and perform a ceremony to worship the gods. Through the buffalo presentation ceremony, the people of Do Son not only showed their respect for the gods but also preserved the extremely unique folk culture of Hai Phong sea area.
