At the online conference summarizing ethnic affairs work, implementing ethnic policies in 2025 and deploying tasks in 2026 recently, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs of Nghe An province Luong Van Khanh said that in 2025, ethnic affairs work and implementation of ethnic policies have been focused on direction by all levels and sectors, and coordination between agencies, units, and localities has become closer and more effective.

The Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs of Nghe An province has well performed the function of State management of ethnic affairs, advising the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to concretize the Party's guidelines, resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government, and concretize them into action programs, projects, policies, and specific work plans.

In particular, the work of propaganda and dissemination of laws is implemented by many rich and diverse methods and forms; From there, it brings efficiency in ethnic minority (DTTS) and mountainous areas.

The province also performs well the work of inspection, examination, supervision, and closely grasps the ethnic situation at the grassroots level. The organizational structure and contingent of cadres working in ethnic affairs are consolidated, and the capacity of the contingent of cadres is gradually improved.

Notably, ethnic affairs and the implementation of ethnic policies have made an important contribution to the implementation of the province's common socio-economic development goals. In 2025, jobs were created for 14,090 people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas (accounting for 28.75% of the province), sending workers to work abroad under contracts for 6,410 people (accounting for 33.73% of the province).

Thereby, making an important and positive contribution to the implementation of the program to solve employment and sustainable poverty reduction, build new rural areas, and create political and social security stability in mountainous areas in particular and Nghe An province in general. The poverty rate in all ethnic minority and mountainous areas decreased by about 3% compared to 2024.

To date, the scale of schools in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Nghe An province has 654 schools with 573 school sites and 9,542 classes, groups of classes, nearly 305,000 students. Education, vocational training, career guidance for ethnic minority youth and the implementation of preferential loan policies to develop the household economy are actively implemented by departments, branches, and localities.

In addition, the work of caring for and protecting health for ethnic minority and mountainous people continues to be well implemented. The medical examination and treatment system is developing relatively completely, the commune level is in the process of arranging 70 health stations according to new administrative units, ensuring 100% of health stations have doctors working.
