Recently, Hai Duong province has issued and implemented the Project on solid waste collection and treatment in the province for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030.
As a result, the rate of collected, transported and treated domestic waste is high. The urban area of Hai Duong city is about 96%, other urban areas are about 88-93%, and rural areas are about 87%.
However, the collection, transportation and treatment of waste in some places is not good; collection points, transfer stations, means of collection, transportation and treatment of domestic solid waste have not been invested synchronously and do not meet technical requirements.
To overcome these limitations, the Provincial Party Standing Committee requested Party committees and authorities at all levels to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and law enforcement on environmental protection.

Including management of domestic solid waste; strengthening direction, management and organization of regular inspection and supervision of classification of domestic solid waste of organizations, individuals, households and domestic solid waste collection units in the area.
The Standing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee requested to implement measures to handle violations of environmental protection for organizations and individuals participating in the collection, transportation and treatment of domestic solid waste that do not comply with State regulations; gradually apply measures to handle and sanction households and individuals that do not classify domestic solid waste at source.
Increase resources for environmental protection; ensure funding for waste collection, transportation, treatment and source classification of solid waste.
Focus on investing in domestic solid waste transfer points, waste collection and transportation vehicles. Speed up the progress of attracting investment in centralized waste treatment plants with advanced, modern technology, high capacity, suitable for the needs of the province.
At the same time, develop specific plans to collect, transport and treat domestic solid waste in localities while waiting for the construction of treatment plants; develop treatment and closure plans for landfills that have stopped operating.
