On December 20, information from the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union said that in recent times, the Union has actively connected businesses and social organizations to care for the lives of disadvantaged women and children, especially in mountainous and border areas.
Specifically, within the framework of the "Giao nang, chuyen tinh yeu" Program, Nghe An Provincial Women's Union coordinated with the Provincial Border Guard Command and Hai Bon Bay Joint Stock Company (Ho Chi Minh City) to organize many activities in the mountainous areas of Que Phong and Ky Son.
In Thong Thu commune, the working group presented 40 gifts to poor women's union members, each worth 1 million VND; at the same time, supported 6 livelihood models for women's families in especially difficult circumstances, worth 5 million VND each. On this occasion, the Association also donated 60 million VND to build a "Love Shelter" for a poor woman with housing difficulties.
In My Ly commune, the delegation presented 20 gifts to poor women's members, each worth 500 thousand VND; supported 3 livelihood models, each worth 5 million VND; and awarded 60 million VND to build a "Warm home of love" for women in especially difficult circumstances.
In addition, the working group visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Thong Thu Border Guard Station and Hanh Dich Border Guard Station; presented computers and printers to My Ly 1 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, My Ly Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Ky Son High School for Ethnic Minorities.
In parallel with the program in Que Phong and Ky Son, the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union also visited and presented gifts to orphans and women's union members affected by storm No. 3 in Tuong Duong, Tam Quang, Chieu Luu and Muong tip communes.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Women's Union presented 40 gifts to orphans, worth a total of VND 52 million, including VND 40 million from the "Sisters" Program and VND 12 million in gifts sponsored by Nestle Vietnam Co., Ltd. In addition, the Association and businesses presented 400 gifts including rice, instant noodles and necessities, with a total value of nearly 230 million VND.
The timely gifts not only contribute to material support but are also a source of spiritual encouragement, adding determination for women and children in disadvantaged mountainous areas of Nghe An to confidently overcome challenges and gradually stabilize their lives.
