On December 20, Lao Cai General Hospital No. 3 coordinated with General Hospital No. 2 to organize free screening for cardiovascular and oncological diseases (thyroid cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer) for more than 600 people, from 4 districts and towns of the old Yen Bai province (now 20 communes in the western area of Lao Cai province).
When coming for examination, people have access to quality medical services, contributing to early detection of risk factors for cancer and cardiovascular diseases using advanced and modern techniques.
The program not only brings medical value but also sends the attention and sharing of the health sector with people in remote, isolated and extremely disadvantaged areas of the province.


Through screening examination, the medical team discovered many common cardiovascular diseases such as: High blood pressure, arrhythmia, risk of heart failure in the elderly, thyroid cancer, breast cancer.
In addition to medical examination, people are also given careful advice on nutrition regimens, disease prevention methods as well as basic first aid skills.
Dr. To Minh Hung - Deputy Director of Lao Cai General Hospital No. 2 - shared: "We hope to not only provide medical services but also help people raise awareness of health care. Hopefully, with these efforts, people in the western part of the province will have a better life".
