On May 26, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho, Head of the Steering Committee for the Military-Civilian Tet activities of Kien Giang province chaired a conference to review the implementation of activities in 2025 and summarize the implementation of activities for the period 2021-2025.
In the 2021-2025 period, the Provincial Steering Committee has successfully organized the activities of the People's Army to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation and Chol Cham Thmay in 7 districts: U Minh Thuong, An Bien, Go Quao, Chau Thanh, Hon Dat, Giang Thanh, Giong Rieng.
In addition, the Provincial Steering Committee has directed the Military Commands of districts and cities to advise the District Party Committees and People's Committees at the same level to organize the Military-Civilian Tet activities in 47 communes of 15 districts and cities, bringing practical results.
Over the past 5 years of implementation, the Provincial Steering Committee has mobilized companies and enterprises inside and outside the province; departments, branches, unions; banks, philanthropists, socio-political organizations, humanitarian and local organizations to contribute over 725 billion VND. Of which, the provincial level contributed over 81 billion VND, the district level contributed over 644 billion VND.
Through fund mobilization, works and tasks have been implemented such as: building and repairing 1,414 houses for subjects, with an amount of more than 82 billion VND; 120 bridges, with an amount of over 64 billion VND; renovating and upgrading more than 155 km of rural traffic routes, with an amount of over 156 billion VND. More than 6,200 garbage pits, trash bins, incinerators, water purifiers, clean water systems, well drilling, water storage tools; pulling electricity to light up a 174.4 km long rural road...
Medical examination and free medicine for more than 16,000 people with an amount of over 5 billion VND; giving nearly 38,000 gifts to policy families, poor households, and soldier families in active service, scholarships for poor students who overcome difficulties and study well, with an amount of more than 86 billion VND...
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho emphasized that the Military-Civilian Tet activities are a model of mass mobilization, with great political significance, promoting the core role of the forces; contributing with the locality to build civil works to serve socio-economic development and build new rural areas; building an increasingly solid position of people's hearts and a strong national unity bloc.
Mr. Le Trung Ho praised and acknowledged the achievements of collectives, individuals, officers, soldiers of the armed forces and banks, companies, businesses, and benefactors who actively support the activities of the Military-Civilian Tet in 2025 and the period 2021 - 2025.
In the period of 2026-2030, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho requested the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee and departments, branches, sectors and organizations of the province to focus on disseminating and implementing the conclusions and Resolutions of the Central and Provincial Party Committee.
Innovation the implementation method in depth, closely following political tasks, closely coordinating with provincial armed forces agencies and units in defense and military activities in general and the Military-Civilian Tet activities in particular. Implemented in conjunction with national target programs, contributing to caring for people's lives, building new rural areas, and sustainable poverty reduction.
Localities that have previously organized continue to promote the spirit and strive more in social security policies, gratitude activities; preserve, promote and embellish social welfare works brought from the Military-Civilian Tet activities.
For localities preparing to organize, it is necessary to conduct a close survey, in accordance with resources, mobilize the participation and involvement of units and localities.
