Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has just inspected and grasped the situation of damage caused by ice rain in Tu Mo Rong commune.
At Forest Stay Tourism Pharmaceutical Cooperative, Dak Chum 1 village, representatives of the Cooperative said that hailstorms accompanied by tornadoes damaged nearly 1ha of strawberries and more than 2ha of crops and fruit trees. Total estimated damage is over 300 million VND.
Notably, this strawberry area is in the stage of preparing to serve tourists during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, so it has a significant impact on the business plan of the unit.
Faced with that situation, the Cooperative is focusing on overcoming damage, mobilizing human resources to clean up and take care of the affected crop area. For heavily damaged areas, the Cooperative will replant, apply technical measures to shorten the growth time, and strive to serve tourists in time for the September 2nd holiday.

Recording the reality at the grassroots level, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee shared the damage that the Cooperative and people are suffering; and at the same time requested local authorities to continue to review and specifically statistics the extent of damage, proactively guide people to implement measures to overcome and restore production.
According to Tu Mo Rong Commune People's Committee, on April 14-15, there were continuous hailstorms accompanied by tornadoes in the area, each lasting from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Extreme weather phenomena have caused damage to about 5.1 hectares of crops of people.
For the area of Ngoc Linh ginseng planted under the forest canopy, due to its specific growth characteristics, people and specialized agencies are continuing to inspect and assess the level of impact to have appropriate handling directions. Local authorities are also coordinating with functional sectors to implement measures to support people to overcome damage and soon stabilize their lives and production.
