On May 19th, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (GHPGVN) - Great Venerable Thich Tri Quang inaugurated the Second Campus - Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, demonstrating the ceremony of placing the statue of Buddha Shakyamuni in the temple.
Present at the ceremony were also Venerable Thich Le Trang, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, Head of the Executive Board of GHPGVN HCMC; venerable monks of the Standing Board of the Executive Board of Buddhism HCMC; venerable monks of the Board of Trustees, monks and nuns of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in HCMC.

The statue of Buddha Shakyamuni entering the great decree, sitting in a kiet-gia posture, was crafted by Non Nuoc stone artisans in Da Nang City, with a height of 2.4 m and a total weight of 3.5 tons.
On this occasion, the Grand Venerable Dharma Master also offered incense in front of the statue of the Governor-General (Bodhisattva Governor-General), cleaned the road rafters and the kitchen in the Academy's campus. It is known that due to the degradation of the land located in the subsidence area, the road rafters will be rebuilt by the Academy's Executive Council in July 2025, with an area of 4,600 m2.
After the Buddha's placement ceremony, the altar and kitchen will be put into use in the Kiet Gioi An Cu Kiet Ha Buddhist Calendar ceremony on April 10, Binh Ngo of monks and nuns living in the Academy and the 10-day rotation course (from April 17 to 26 Binh Ngo) of venerable dignitaries of the Executive Council, Faculty Management Board, lecturers, and Academy office.
