On April 26th (March 10th of the lunar calendar), the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vung Tau Ward (HCMC) organized the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony 2026, taking place at Hung Kings Temple - Mau Cuu Temple (Bach Dang Street), in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, towards the national origin.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of neighboring wards and communes, along with a large number of people and tourists.
The death anniversary ceremony began with a flower wreath procession with the words "Forever grateful to the Hung Kings" held solemnly, expressing the nation's "Drink water, remember the source" morality. Immediately after that, the delegates respectfully offered incense, flowers and offerings, in which banh chung and banh day are indispensable - traditional offerings associated with the legend of the Hung Kings, and expressed deep gratitude for the merits of building and defending the country of their predecessors.
According to Vung Tau Ward People's Committee, Hung Kings' Death Anniversary is a sacred symbol of the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree". Through the death anniversary ceremony, it is also an opportunity for each Vietnamese citizen to be more proud of the Tien Rong race, to have more sense of responsibility to preserve, nurture and promote the good values that their ancestors passed down.

This year's death anniversary is of special significance as it is the first time Vung Tau has organized it in Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, contributing to educating patriotic traditions, consolidating the great national unity bloc, and at the same time raising the sense of responsibility of cadres, party members and people in the cause of building and developing the locality," Mr. Vu Hong Thuan - Chairman of Vung Tau Ward People's Committee emphasized.
After the ceremony, a large number of people and tourists in the area participated in visiting and offering incense at Hung Vuong - Mau Cuu Temple in a solemn and respectful atmosphere. This affirms the sustainable value of the Hung King worship belief in the spiritual and cultural life of the nation, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural identity in the new development stage.
