According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of the 6th day of Tet, at Linh Quang Pagoda, Thanh Nua commune, Dien Bien province, a large number of Buddhists, people and tourists came to the pagoda to attend the New Year's peace prayer ceremony. The pagoda is about 5 km from the center of Dien Bien province and more than 10 km from the Lao border.
The ceremony took place solemnly with rituals such as: Reciting the Medicine Monk's Sutra, announcing prayers for peace. This is not only aimed at praying for national peace and prosperity, world peace, and prosperous Vietnam, but also sends expectations that Dien Bien province will become increasingly developed.

Ms. Ngo Thuy (Bung Lao commune, Dien Bien) said: "Every year I arrange time to attend the New Year's peace prayer program. I wish for a new year of peace and health for my whole family.
The Medicine Master Dharma Assembly at the beginning of spring is also an opportunity for people with religious needs to return to a pure space, pray for peace and start a new year with joyful spirits.
Talking to PV, Venerable Thich Nhuan Thanh - Deputy Head of the Executive Board of GHPGVN Dien Bien province - said that the New Year's peace prayer ceremony at Linh Quang Pagoda is an annual activity, which has become a good tradition enthusiastically responded to by monks and Buddhists every early spring.

The wishes of people's hearts are all aspirations, sincere hearts are happy, wishing for a peaceful life..." - the Venerable said at the ceremony.
Venerable Thich Nhuan Thanh emphasized that the peace prayer ceremony is an opportunity for the Buddhist community and people to turn their hearts to pray for a peaceful new year.
The Medicine Buddha symbolizes the light of wisdom and healing energy. His twelve great vows express the spirit of saving suffering, eliminating diseases and resolving disasters.
However, the deep meaning of the Medicine Sutra does not only stop at praying, but reflects the spirit of "self-treatment", reminding each person to transform suffering due to their own karma" - the Venerable said.

Also according to Venerable Thich Nhuan Thanh, national peace and prosperity begin from the transformation in each person. Praying is very important, but it needs to go hand in hand with practicing a decent life, knowing how to love, knowing how to share and maintain morality.
