Chi Vien Kindergarten currently has 205 students with 9 groups, mostly children of Tay and Nung ethnic minorities.
The school's facilities were built in 2003, and have now deteriorated, lacking functional rooms, and teaching equipment that does not meet the requirements of education innovation.

Faced with that situation, with the spirit of sharing with students in mountainous and border areas, former President Truong Tan Sang and his wife mobilized socialized resources and donated 400 million VND to repair and upgrade the school's items.
Speaking at the ceremony, former President Truong Tan Sang shared the difficulties of northern mountainous localities, and acknowledged the joint efforts of organizations and individuals in improving learning conditions for students.
He emphasized that investing in education in border areas is a policy of profound humanitarian significance, contributing to improving the quality of human resources for the region.
The former President requested localities to continue to pay attention to education development, mobilize more resources to improve facilities, improve teaching and learning quality, associated with socio-economic development goals, and build new rural areas.
Representatives of the Dam Thuy commune government expressed their gratitude and committed to using the funds for the right purpose, publicly and transparently; deploying project repairs to ensure progress and quality, and promote the effectiveness of the supported resources.
