On the afternoon of October 20, Mr. Lo Kham Kha - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nga My commune (Nghe An) - said that after many days of mobilizing forces to clear roads and transport relief goods, up to now, the routes to the isolated area have been basically cleared.
Cars and motorbikes have been able to enter 3 out of 5 isolated villages, including Chai Hien and Phai villages. In Na Kho village alone (78 households, 402 people) currently only have a few sections that have to be pedestrianised through the landslide area, and the route is expected to be opened soon.

Na Ngan village (with 155 households, 772 people) is still the most difficult point. Currently, people and authorities have to walk and walk motorbikes through many landslides to get there. However, the basic necessities and food for the people have been guaranteed, said Mr. Kha.
Previously, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, many roads and bridges in Nga My commune were swept away by floodwaters, isolating 5 villages with more than 2,500 people.
In recent days, the commune government has mobilized more than 30 people including commune cadres, militia, police, soldiers and youth from villages to participate in transporting relief goods. The authorities used motorbikes to transport goods to locations that could be reached, then walked through the landslide roads to bring goods to the village.
Here, relief goods continue to be delivered to local youth to be transported deep inside, ensuring that necessities reach the people.
