According to Lieutenant Colonel Chau, during Tet, the unit strengthens the organization of closed patrols in the area, strictly controlling each route and each key area. Border patrol and protection work is strengthened both day and night. Every night, the unit organizes ambushes in the border gate area and key locations, promptly detecting and preventing acts of smuggling and transporting illegal goods," Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Huu Hoa informed.
Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Huu Hoa said that forces such as border guards, police, market management and local authorities maintain a close coordination mechanism, regularly exchange information, organize inter-sectoral patrols, and conduct surprise inspections of suspicious points. The simultaneous and drastic implementation of professional measures has contributed to gradually curbing smuggling on the border line.
In particular, propaganda and mobilization of the people to participate in denouncing crimes have been promoted with many rich forms, suitable to the specific characteristics of the area. People are encouraged to provide information related to illegal acts; at the same time, all acts of covering up and assisting smugglers are strictly handled according to regulations.
