On April 15, at Giri Dakkhinasattharama (Nam Son Pagoda, Vung Tau ward), the traditional Tet Chol Chnam Thmay was organized for Khmer people, bringing a joyful, warm and full of morality atmosphere, helping people welcome the new year in joy, peace and happiness.
Quang Lam proves that the ceremony was attended by Venerable Thich Tri Chau, Venerable Thich Nhuan Hai, Venerable Thich Giac Thong - Co-Cuthor of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City; Venerable Thich Minh Hanh - Member of the Executive Council, Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City... along with dignitaries, monks, nuns and monks who are abbots of pagodas.
On the government side, there were the participation of Mr. Doan Van Dong - Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilization and Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Le Thi Thanh Binh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vung Tau Ward.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Venerable Quách Thành Sattha shared about the sacred meaning of the traditional Tet Chôl Chnăm Thmây - the most important holiday of the year for the Khmer people. The Venerable emphasized that this is not only the moment of transition from the old year to the new year according to the traditional calendar, but also an opportunity for each Buddhist son to focus on cultivating his mind, renewing his body - mind - will, nurturing merits and nurturing spiritual life.
In a joyful atmosphere, the Organizing Committee solemnly received fresh flower baskets and many meaningful gifts from dignitaries, leaders at all levels and representatives of departments, branches, and organizations sent to congratulate.
At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Minh Hanh, on behalf of the Executive Board of GHPGVN City, solemnly announced the New Year's greeting letter of the Venerable Chairman of the Executive Council sent to Khmer compatriots. Next, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Binh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vung Tau Ward also respectfully announced the Prime Minister's New Year's greeting letter, conveying wishes for a new year of peace and happiness.

Ms. Binh also, on behalf of local leaders, sent New Year greetings to monks, Buddhists, and Khmer people. She expressed her appreciation for the community's positive contributions in preserving national cultural identity, developing socio-economics, and building an increasingly prosperous cultural life in the locality.
