On March 18, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra On district coordinated with the People's Committee of Luc Si Thanh commune to organize the "Rice of Love" program to donate 100 monthly rice books to poor households, lonely elderly people, and sick people in Tra On district and Ngai Tu commune, Tam Binh district.
The program presented 100 rice books and 100 gifts to the above customers, each worth more than 300 thousand VND including: cash, rice, instant noodles, fish sauce, seasoning powder. The total cost of giving gifts is over 30 million VND, drawn from the Phuoc Nguyen Pagoda Charity Fund.
Venerable Thich Mat Tinh - Abbot of Phuoc Nguyen Pagoda, Luc Si Thanh Commune, Tra On District said: This is the 15th year the Program has been maintained to contribute to spreading love, sharing difficulties with poor people, encouraging people to strive to overcome difficulties and rise up in life.
According to Venerable Thich Mat Tinh, the program was inspired by the "Resistance Rice War", calling on the community to join hands to contribute to a monthly support fund to donate rice to people in especially difficult circumstances, each rice book is 10-15kg, depending on the situation...

Up to now, the Phuoc Nguyen Pagoda Charity Fund, Luc Si Thanh Commune, Tra On District has received over 10 billion VND from benefactors and philanthropists at home and abroad.
"Thereby, giving 100 monthly rice books to the poor, lonely elderly, and sick people inside and outside the locality, contributing to implementing social security, joining hands with the district to effectively carry out hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and building an increasingly rich, civilized, and humane district," said Meritorious Artist Thich Mat Tinh.
