On July 3, Xuan Son Commune Health Station (HCMC) and Health Point No. 2 in the area launched a program of free periodic health check-ups for children under 6 years old. This is the first free periodic health check-up to be organized, marking an important starting step in building a child health management system from the early years of life in the commune.
On the first day, many parents in Son Hoa and Son Lap hamlets took their children to 2 clinics for general health check-ups by doctors. Among them, there were cases just over 1 month old. The health check-up program fully applies professional procedures issued by the Ministry of Health, implemented according to a one-way model with 5 consecutive steps, helping to reduce waiting times and create convenience for parents when taking their children for examination.
After completing the examination process, doctors also advise on nutrition, health care, and appropriate vaccination schedules; and at the same time guide referrals for cases of disease detection or suspected abnormalities. All examination results are updated directly into electronic health records, contributing to building a unified health database for children in the area.
According to the plan, the periodic health check-up program for children under 6 years old in Xuan Son commune is organized from July 3 to 31, for both permanent and temporary residents who have been confirmed information through the VNeID system. Thereby contributing to concretizing the policy of the Government, the Ministry of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on organizing free periodic health check-ups for people, in which children are the top priority group.
After the centralized examination at these 2 locations, the examination teams will deploy mobile examinations, sweep examinations in hamlets, kindergartens, educational institutions... and continue to deploy in other areas. Thereby completing the goal of covering 100% of children eligible for benefits, contributing to realizing the goal of universal health care right from the early years of life.
