On February 11, Regiment 720 (Corps 16) organized a meeting program, giving 700 gifts to households in difficult circumstances in the project area and people of 2 communes Quang Tan, Quang Tin (Lam Dong province).
The activity demonstrates the spirit of responsibility and deep concern of the unit for the lives of the people, contributing to further tightening the solidarity and close relationship between the army and the locality.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Son - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Regiment Commander of Regiment 720 emphasized that in recent years, the unit has always identified mass mobilization and care for people's lives as one of the important political tasks.
In addition to the task of economic development associated with national defense and security, the unit regularly coordinates with local Party committees and authorities to implement many practical activities such as supporting production, building infrastructure, helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and caring for policy families and poor households.
700 gifts were handed directly to households in difficult circumstances, poor households, and policy families in the project area and 2 communes Quang Tan, Quang Tin.
Each gift, although not of great material value, contains the feelings and sharing of officers and soldiers of Regiment 720, contributing to encouraging people to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
On the occasion of the same day, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Son organized a meeting with village elders and village chiefs of Si At, Giang Chau, and Sin Chai. Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Son cordially inquired, encouraged and sent New Year greetings to village elders, village chiefs and their families.
At the same time, he acknowledged and praised the core role of the elders and village chiefs in propagating and mobilizing people to comply with the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State.
Also at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Son exchanged and propagated contents related to ensuring security and order in the area; preventing and combating social evils.
Through this, it is hoped that village elders and village chiefs will continue to promote their prestige and exemplary role, closely coordinate with local authorities and military units in propaganda and mobilization of people, contributing to building safe, united and developed areas.
