Vinh Long builds policies to support Pali Khmer teaching

Vinh Long - Many tasks on ethnic policies, religious management, organizational consolidation and legal propaganda are being implemented synchronously in the area.

According to the plan of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Vinh Long province, many key tasks in the field of ethnicity and religion will be implemented in May 2026.

In ethnic minority affairs, the unit continues to advise the Provincial People's Committee to complete the report on receiving and explaining the draft Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on comprehensive development of ethnic minority areas in the period 2026–2030, with orientations to 2045. At the same time, coordinate with relevant sectors to handle the recommendations of Phong Thanh Commune People's Committee according to the proposed content.

The Department also focuses on developing a Resolution regulating policies to support Pali-Khmer teachers at Khmer Nam Tong Buddhist pagodas.

In the field of beliefs and religions, the Department submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration the establishment of 8 Management Boards of Buddhist academies; and at the same time reported on the situation of organizing Easter 2026 according to regulations.

In addition, the unit coordinates to prepare for the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Vinh Long province for the 2026–2031 term; develop a plan to propagate and disseminate laws on beliefs and religions to dignitaries, officials and representatives of religious establishments.

Some professional contents were also discussed and handled, such as Pnô Ompung Pagoda's request to enshrine the Tam Tang scriptures and issues related to Khmer Southern Buddhism in the area.

In addition, the Department continues to monitor the situation, promptly resolve cases arising in the field of belief and religion; guide and handle administrative procedures according to regulations.
