Xa Phien Commune Police (Can Tho City) launched the model "Peaceful Pagoda - safe hamlets and villages in terms of security and order", contributing to maintaining security from the grassroots level.

Xa Phien Commune Police (Can Tho City) has just organized a launching ceremony for the model "Peaceful Pagoda - safe hamlets and villages in terms of security and order" at Po Thi Vone Wong Sa Ka Rone Pagoda, Nga Bac hamlet, according to the e-Portal of Can Tho City Police.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, local organizations, Venerable Lam Vong - Abbot of the pagoda, the Management Board and a large number of Buddhists.

The model is implemented on the basis of close coordination between the commune police and the pagoda. Propaganda content on maintaining security, order, and preventing and combating social evils will be integrated into prayer sessions; at the same time, disseminating laws, raising vigilance against acts of theft, gambling, drugs and tricks to divide the great national unity bloc.

The model also promotes the spirit of self-management, self-prevention, self-protection, and mobilizes people to proactively detect and provide valuable information about crimes to functional forces.

According to the plan, the model strives for 100% of Buddhist households in Nga Bac hamlet to be propagated and sign commitments not to violate the law, not to participate in social evils; 100% of small conflicts in the community are coordinated by monks and the Management Board to mediate right at the grassroots level; not to let serious crimes, theft of antiques, property or fires and explosions occur in the pagoda grounds; and at the same time reduce at least 10% of cases of violations of the law on social evils and social order and safety compared to the same period.
