Tay Giang commune, Da Nang organizes the 1st Co Tu Cultural Festival

Da Nang - From August 6 to 8, 2026, Tay Giang commune, Da Nang city will organize the 1st Co Tu Cultural Festival in 2026 at Co Tu Traditional Village, Agrong village.

With the theme "Tay Giang New Day - Melody of Harvest Day", the event aims to honor, preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Co Tu people, and at the same time promote the image of the western highlands of Da Nang to tourists.

The highlight of the festival is the recreation of the New Rice Festival, a traditional ritual associated with the production life and beliefs of the Co Tu people. Through rituals, people express their gratitude to nature, praying for bumper harvests and a peaceful and prosperous life.

Visitors will be immersed in a unique cultural space with Tang tung da da dance performances, ly singing, ly speaking, folk songs and traditional instrument performances. These activities contribute to recreating the rich spiritual life and long-standing cultural identity of the Co Tu community.

In addition, the festival also organizes many experiential activities such as rice pounding contests, buffalo horn cake wrapping, crossbow shooting, stilt walking and folk games. This is an opportunity for tourists to learn about the customs of living, working and the cultural beauty of the highland people.

The traditional culinary space will introduce dishes imbued with the flavor of mountains and forests, along with an OCOP product display area, handicrafts and local specialties. Thereby, contributing to promoting local products, supporting community livelihood development and promoting tourism associated with cultural preservation.

The first Tay Giang Co Tu Cultural Festival is expected to become a highlight in the series of cultural and tourism activities of Da Nang city, contributing to preserving national identity, developing community tourism and bringing the image of the Tay Giang highlands closer to domestic and international tourists.
