At a recent conference to summarize the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, Thai Nguyen province announced the completion of the elimination of more than 1,800 temporary and dilapidated houses for people in the area.

This is one of the practical tasks with profound humanitarian significance, helping people soon have a home to settle down on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

With the view of leaving no one behind, Thai Nguyen province has directed the review in the area, not to miss any family living in temporary or dilapidated houses without support to build new or repair them.

To date, the whole Thai Nguyen province has completed the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for 1,838 households, of which 1,221 were newly built; repaired 617 houses, completed 15 days ahead of the target of the Provincial Steering Committee and 8 months ahead of the Prime Minister's direction.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Thai Nguyen province - informed that Thai Nguyen province reported to superiors and informed the people of the whole province that all temporary and dilapidated houses in the area have been eliminated.

According to Mr. Hung, the leadership and direction of elimination of temporary houses and dilapidated houses in Thai Nguyen province have been implemented, implemented synchronously and drastically, showing the sense of responsibility from the province to the commune level; The key leaders of the province and districts regularly directed closely, checked in reality and promptly removed difficulties; The spirit of "solidarity, solidarity", "good leaves protect torn leaves", socialization resources are strongly promoted; Households actively erase temporary houses to stabilize their lives soon.

Also making efforts to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, Mr. Lam Van Man - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Soc Trang province - said that in addition to considering the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses as a political task, Soc Trang province also identified this as an order from the heart.

According to statistics, the whole Soc Trang province has 8,649 households that need support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with a total cost of more than 454 billion VND. Of which, housing support for meritorious people is 906 units, with a budget of more than 40 billion VND; housing support for poor households and near-poor households is 6,887 units, with a budget of more than 373 billion VND;

Support housing for households of meritorious people and relatives of martyrs with seriously degraded, damaged, and unsafe houses, with a budget of more than VND40 billion; support housing under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority Areas with 455 houses, with a budget of more than VND27 billion.

As of early April 2025, Soc Trang has started construction of 6,556 houses, reaching 75.59% of the plan. Of which, the province has completed 4,907 units, with an implementation cost of nearly 263 billion VND.

Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee has mobilized nearly 7,000 working days of cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, union members, association members and people with the motto that people help each other, not rely on financial support from the State budget. The province aims to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses before June 30, 2025 (3 months earlier than planned).
