On the morning of February 23, in Yen Tu, Quang Ninh province, the launching ceremony of "Tet tree planting forever remembers Uncle Ho" Binh Ngo Spring 2026 was held.
Attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Quan Minh Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Quang Ninh province; Mr. Bui Van Khang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with leaders of departments, branches and a large number of people.
In recent years, the situation of natural disasters has become complicated and extreme, greatly impacting the forest area in the province. In particular, Typhoon Yagi caused great damage, reducing the forest cover rate from 55% to 38%.
Faced with this reality, the province has implemented many forest restoration solutions. To date, the forest cover rate has reached 45.8% and aims to increase to over 50% by 2030.
According to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ninh province, implementing the Launching Ceremony of "Tet of planting trees forever remembering Uncle Ho" Binh Ngo Spring 2026, as of February 23, 169,880 green trees were planted throughout the province, equivalent to an area of 163.83 ha.
In Yen Tu, immediately after the launching ceremony, provincial leaders and delegates planted 1,268 ironwood, lát, and gù hương trees on an area of 1.5ha.
Speaking at the ceremony, provincial leaders called on officials, party members and people to continue to improve their responsibility and implement forest restoration plans in key areas, especially heritage areas, protection forests, and headwater forests. In addition to afforestation, the province also focuses on developing urban green tree systems to improve the landscape and quality of the living environment.
