On February 21 (ie, the 5th day of the first lunar month), the atmosphere of planting trees took place sôi nổi, solemnly on the islands.
Right in the first week of early spring, units organized a launching ceremony "Tet tree planting forever remembers Uncle Ho", creating a competitive atmosphere right from the first days of the year.
According to statistics, after the launching ceremony, officers, soldiers and people of Truong Sa special zone planted and cared for more than 9,000 trees.

In which, more than 1,500 new trees of all kinds were planted such as coconut, mù u, bàng vuông, tra, phi lao, bão táp, muống biển and some fruit trees; and at the same time, more than 7,500 trees were cared for and pruned in the islands' premises.
In 2025, overcoming harsh weather conditions, officers, soldiers and people of Truong Sa special zone effectively implemented the "Greening Truong Sa" program, planting more than 100,000 green trees of all kinds; more than 150,000 sea water spinach pits; nurturing and grafting nearly 19,000 seedlings, gradually greening the islands and proactively providing tree resources for the following years.
The "Greening Truong Sa" program not only creates a green - clean - beautiful landscape but also contributes to improving the microclimate, limiting erosion caused by sea waves and tides; reducing the impact of storms, improving the quality of life of soldiers and people on the island.
Many models such as youth gardens, concentrated vegetable gardens, windbreak trellises, and rows of trees along patrol roads have shown clear effectiveness.
Along with that, units strengthen propaganda and raise awareness about the long-term meaning of planting and protecting green trees. The emulation movements "Each person one green tree", "Green island - strong unit" are associated with building comprehensively strong, exemplary, and typical units.
Each seed planted not only contributes to improving the environment but also shows the determination to stick to the islands and protect the sea of officers and soldiers at the forefront of the Fatherland.
Over many years of implementation, the appearance of the islands belonging to the Truong Sa special zone has changed more and more positively; many islands have formed stable green tree systems, good green vegetable gardens all year round, ensuring a part of the source of fresh food for soldiers.
