35 works honored at the 2025 Buddhist Journalism Award

The 2025 Buddhist Journalism Award honors 35 outstanding works, contributing to spreading the values of compassion, wisdom and humanity of Buddhism in social life.

On June 9 in Hanoi, the Central Information and Communication Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha organized the 2025 Buddhist Press Award Ceremony.

The 2025 Buddhist Journalism Award is organized to honor journalistic works that have made positive contributions in conveying the human values, compassion and service spirit of Vietnamese Buddhism to the community.

At the same time, the award affirms the role of the press in spreading good messages, contributing to building a cultural, ethical and social life according to the motto "Good morality - Beautiful life".

Continuing the success of the first season held in 2024, the 2025 Buddhist Press Award continues to receive widespread response from press agencies and journalists across the country.

After the launch period from June 6, 2025 to January 5, 2026, the organizing committee received 948 valid entries, including 669 print and electronic newspaper entries, 135 radio - television entries and 144 press photo entries.

Through the preliminary and final rounds, the jury selected the most typical works to award prizes with 35 excellent works honored, with 104 authors and groups of authors from 28 press agencies receiving awards.

According to assessments from the judges, many works this year are elaborately invested, vividly reflecting Buddhist life as well as social issues from a humane perspective, rich in a sense of responsibility and community service. Many works not only perform well their information function but also contribute to orienting awareness, arousing moral, humanistic values and social responsibility in the context of modern media.

Speaking at the ceremony, Venerable Thich Gia Quang - Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, Head of the Central Information and Communication Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Buddhist Press Award emphasized that communication is a bridge connecting the Dharma with life, contributing to spreading moral, humanistic values and the spirit of community service.

Venerable Thich Gia Quang said that in the context of the press industry undergoing many changes along with the digital transformation and rearrangement of the press agency system, the active participation of media agencies in the Buddhist field shows that the flow of Buddhist media is still maintained with enthusiasm, responsibility and belief in the good values that genuine journalism brings.

At the award ceremony, the organizing committee awarded 1 Special Prize to the work "Buddhist Imprint Accompanying the Nation" (20 articles) by the author group: Thich Thanh Phuong, Bui Huu Duoc, Thich Minh Hai, Tran Ngoc Thoan, Phan Ngoc Dung, Ho Chi Minh City Police Newspaper.

3 types of journalism include print newspapers - electronic newspapers, radio - television and press photos. In addition, many thematic awards are also awarded to recognize individuals and collectives who have made outstanding contributions to the success of the season.

The First Prize in the print and electronic newspaper categories was awarded to the work "Following the Footsteps of the Buddha Emperor" (5 installments) by author Nguyen Hoang Duong, Tien Phong Newspaper.

The First Prize in the Radio and Television category was awarded to the work "Nang bien thuy" by the author group: Ngo Thi Dung, Hoang Van Tuyen, Nguyen Khoa Manh Tung, Lang Son Newspaper and Radio, Television.

3 consolation prizes were awarded to the work "To make Sala fragrant" by the group of authors Nguyen Thi Yen, Ngo Thi Thu Lan, Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong, Sports and Culture Newspaper; The work "The Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Relic Complex has global value" by author Vu Minh Duc, VNA Photo Department; The work "The procession of Buddha's relics in Hanoi" by the group of authors Tran Cong Dat, Vu Khanh Long, Tran Van Hieu, Vietnam News Agency.

According to the organizers, the 2025 Buddhist Journalism Award not only affirms the scale and prestige of a specialized journalism award of national stature but also shows the values of compassion, wisdom and humanity of Buddhism that are increasingly spreading deeply in social life, contributing to nurturing morality, fostering culture and building a virtuous lifestyle in the community.
