The exhibition "Lotus Early Summer IX" is taking place at Art Space, 42 Yet Kieu, Hanoi and lasts until May 31 (April 15, year of the Horse).
The event was organized by the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, with the participation of Buddhist painter group Mac Huong and artists from the Hanoi UNESCO Center for Fine Arts.

This year's exhibition is organized on the occasion of the 2650th anniversary of the Buddha's birth, and also marks the 20th anniversary of the Mac Huong Buddhist Artists Group (2006 - 2026). This is also the exhibition with the largest number of works to date with 58 works by 36 artists.
Taking the image of the lotus as the main inspiration, the works are expressed in many materials such as oil paint, lacquer, silk painting, watercolor painting... with diverse styles from realistic to abstract.
Although the expressions are different, the works all aim for the spirit of peace, awakening and the beauty of Buddhist philosophy.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Venerable Thich Minh Hien - Deputy Head of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha said that art is to create beauty, and at the same time is a means of internal contemplation, sowing good things into life. A work only truly has depth when it is created from a pure soul and a spirit of compassion.

Many impressive works such as "Nine Dragons Bathing in Buddha" by Venerable Thich Tu Quang bring pure beauty through watercolor material; "Luc Do Mau Tara" by painter Nguyen Thi Nhan (法名 Phap Lac) evokes a mysterious feeling in oil paint language.

Meanwhile, the abstract lacquer painting "Thien Ma Huong Son" by painter Nguyen Duc Quang (code name Quang Thien) is as liberal and powerful as the breath of the mountains and forests.

Through painting and sculpture, "Lotus Head Summer IX" shows that art can become a means of spreading Buddhist spirit to the contemporary public with emotions, cultural depth and soul connection.
The exhibition is an art exhibition, and also opens up a journey of meeting between art and meditation in the mindfulness breath of the early summer lotus season.
