On April 8, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans organized a ceremony to award means of livelihood and wheelchairs to people with disabilities and children in difficult circumstances in the area.
This is an activity belonging to the series of programs to celebrate Vietnam Disability Day 18. 4.
At the program, the organizers presented 20 wheelchairs and 5 business capital support packages (10 million VND each), with a total budget of 100 million VND to people with disabilities and orphans in difficult circumstances. These support packages contribute to helping beneficiaries have more means of livelihood, convenient travel, improve living standards and gradually integrate into the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trong Dam - Chairman of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans said that the program to award wheelchairs and means of livelihood is a humanitarian activity that Associations at all levels and units regularly maintain. Thereby, supporting people with disabilities to mobilize in difficult circumstances to improve their quality of life, confidently participate in social activities and develop livelihoods.
This activity not only carries practical material support but also spreads the spirit of mutual affection, contributing to the effective implementation of social security policies in Ho Chi Minh City.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans also presented 210 gifts (each worth 1 million VND), 40 wheelchairs, 40 scholarships and livelihood means, and at the same time organized examinations, eye surgeries, and heart surgeries for people with disabilities and orphans in difficult circumstances.
