Gia Lai opens Ethnic Culture Festival with many unique activities

Gia Lai - Gia Lai Provincial Ethnic Culture Festival will take place at the end of April, with many unique cultural, artistic and experiential activities.

On April 9, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee announced that it had planned to organize the 1st Gia Lai Provincial Ethnic Culture Festival in 2026. It is expected to take place on April 25 and 26, at Dai Doan Ket Square and Pleiku Museum (Pleiku ward).

The festival aims to preserve and promote traditional cultural values; contributing to introducing and promoting the culture and image of ethnic minorities in Gia Lai province to tourists.

This is also an opportunity for ethnic minorities in the province to meet, exchange, and share experiences in the work of preserving traditional culture, thereby tightening the spirit of solidarity between ethnic groups in the province.

The festival will be associated with propaganda activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities in Pleiku (April 19, 1946 - April 19, 2026).

Through this, emphasizing the great unity ideology of President Ho Chi Minh through the content of Uncle Ho's letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities in Pleiku, along with the views and national policies of the Party and State.

Through the series of activities, the Festival will promote important changes in the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities; educate patriotism, solidarity spirit; promote the strength of the great national unity bloc in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

Contributing to affirming the concern of the Party and State for ethnic minorities; fighting to defeat the plots and tricks of hostile forces to divide the great national unity bloc.

Within the framework of the Festival, many activities will take place such as art programs, cultural exchange nights of ethnic groups in Gia Lai province at 7 pm on April 25; space for cultural and folk art performances of ethnic groups from 8 am to 4 pm on April 25 and 26; human chess games on April 26 at Dai Doan Ket Square.

From 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on April 25th, delegates will visit the relic, offer flowers and incense to President Ho Chi Minh and Hero Nup at the relic site to receive Uncle Ho's letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities in 1946 and Dai Doan Ket Square.

The exhibition of paintings and photos about Uncle Ho with Gia Lai ethnic groups will take place from April 24 to 26 at the Pleiku Museum thematic exhibition room and Dai Doan Ket Square campus.

The folk cake making contest, taking place from 8am to 2pm on April 25th at the Pleiku Museum grounds.

Notably, the space to experience specialty coffee and display and introduce typical products, OCOP products of Gia Lai province will be held from April 24 to 26 at the parking area on Anh Hung Nup street (Pleiku ward).
