On March 23, Ia Ly Commune People's Committee, Gia Lai province said that it had just inaugurated the Kep 1 village communal house project in the area, with hundreds of delegates attending.
The Rong house is designed based on the traditional prototype of the indigenous people, the roof of the Rong house is towering, the lower part is solid with columns, beams, bamboo, clay yellow...
According to the Commune People's Committee, Kep 1 village communal house belongs to the project to build community tourism infrastructure in Ia Mo Nong commune (former Chu Pah district, now Ia Ly commune), using ADB loan capital with a total investment of over 12 billion VND.
The project includes items: communal house, stilt house, toilet area, statue garden, tomb house, water drop... with an investment of more than 5.79 billion VND.
In addition, the 3.43 km long rural traffic route connecting Kep 1 village with A Mong village and Cong Chua waterfall scenic spot is also invested with more than 6.6 billion VND.
The new Rong house celebration takes place according to the traditional rituals of the Jrai people, highlighted by the buffalo eating ritual with the ritual of throwing rice to the buffalo, touching the buffalo's tail for good luck...
Mr. Nguyen Huu Que - Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that when the traditional Rong house goes into operation, it will become a cultural highlight of the village; and at the same time suggested that people consider this as common property to jointly preserve and promote the value of use and cultural value.
The Kep 1 village communal house project not only contributes to promoting community tourism in the locality but also creates conditions to preserve and promote traditional cultural identity, thereby concretizing Resolution No. 80 of the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture.
Many people and tourists are very interested in the traditional Rong house model and the surrounding landscape, all harmonizing with nature, pristine, and local.

Previously, at the end of 2025, regarding the construction of Rong houses, public opinion was stirred up and reacted to the concrete Rong house model built for billions of VND at the foot of Chu Dang Ya volcano, Bien Ho commune - a national-level tourist attraction.
The Chu Pah area construction investment project management board (the project investor) had to hire machinery and workers to dismantle the concrete stilt house.
The project has a total investment of 9.4 billion VND from the State budget, starting construction from May 2025.
In addition to the construction of the concrete Rong house, the too large project has blocked the view of the million-year-old volcano. When tourists come to admire the famous mountain, they will not be able to see everything because it is blocked by the Rong house and display house.
The massive concrete block of the project is not suitable for aesthetics and landscape planning, and has been completely dismantled.
